This is where it all started. In the beginning it was just girl and her two goats, then I added our Anna, who is still with us today. She is the only one of my originals that is here.  You see, my first two goats were given to me by our now deceased beloved neighbor, John Rainey. He raised a few goats each year, and my driveway runs along side of his pasture. Needless to say I would stop every day hang my head out the window and holler lovingly at the kids that he had each season. My husband was probably ready to choke me.  Anyways one spring he just gave me two kids; I named Rainey Blue and Serena May. They were not disbudded and since I wanted to move towards dairy and at the time our son was 8, it made sense to transition. So now here we are 7 years later with 30 something goats. I named us Rainey Blue in honor of both John Rainey( the man that gave me first two addictions) and my late Grandfather, Bill Clark, from Blue Mountain, Mississippi. His co-workers gave him the nick name Blue. We live now on the land that has been in my family since the late 60's. I walk everyday where he had peas planted and there isn't a day goes by that I don't think of him and smile knowing he would be tickled pink at me. I was after all the apple of his eye.
